Water Lines Pass Pressure Test on Tiny Home

The Hot Water system failed the pressure test pretty bad until we found that we had not soldiered one of the joints. Once the joint was soldered the system held the pressure in the line. The Coldwater had a slow leak that took us a while to find. It turns out one of the threaded caps that had been placed on one of the ends was not tightened correctly and had a small leak. Once it was determined that the lines were holding pressure the last of the drywall was installed in the restroom.

Today we also sanded and began painting the primer on the walls.  The downstairs is about 80 percent complete, and the bed area is about 25 percent complete.  We plan on finishing the drywall tape and mud tomorrow in the bathroom.

On Saturday we had a crew of four working on the tiny home and one in the farm/garden. We installed the trim pieces along the ceiling in the upper part of the bedroom and above the kitchen and sitting area. We also continued installing tape and mud on the drywall joints. I don't know if this is really necessary but I wanted the students to get the practice and to learn how walls are finished. I plan on placing trim on two horizontal joints, one at four feet in elevation and the other at the eight-foot elevation. The corners may also get some trim pieces, I think it would give the home a rustic look.

Also on Saturday, a  Redwood trim piece was placed at the bedroom joint and on an Architectural feature above the front door. They came out nice!

I also picked up carpet squares at our district warehouse. They are brown with some blue and gray mixed in. The only problem is that they are in various sizes. I am thinking of using spray glue to install it. Will be doing some research on this.

We are coming down to the wire on this project. There are 24 days of school left.  This past Friday our Superintendent was on site and walked the Tiny Home. We discussed some possible end solutions for the home. My original intentions were to have the home auctioned off at some city or school event. Still considering this.
