Today, we installed a new door on the tiny home. The last door frame got slammed in by the locals. The students also build a landing out of a wood pallet. Tomorrow we install the stairs!!!!
Yesterday students began creating DIY projects out of wood pallets, something small. Here is what our work area looked like after the day!

The view in the photo is to the east from Claremont. The first major street in the photo is Indian Hill Blvd. The photo was taken in 1928.
Today in class students planted seeds for our winter garden. This will be the second attempt at a winter garden. Two weeks ago we planted plants in the garden only to have someone leave the gate open and the chickens got in and well, the rest is history.
We planted
Peas - 72 seeds planted in a tray. Green Arrow (Bush) - 75 days to harvest - 12 days to germinate.
Cayenne Peppers - 38 planted in a tray. Cayenne Long Slim, hot Peppes. 75 days to harvest - 12 days to germinate
Today Mr. Connor's classes participated in a ping pong tournament with the paddles that the students created last week. Each class had a winner of the "Best of Show" contest and a winner for the best ping pong player!

Period 6The students in Mr. Connor's Per 7 Farm construction class raised the chain link fence gate to allow for the hose to be brought under the gate.
And students from Mr. Connor's first-period Farm Construction classes hung cabbage from a rope for the chickens. This photo was taken later in the day after the chicken pecked at the cabbage.
Two tables were painted by Mr. Connor's construction class and placed in the quad. They are being used!!!!! The tables were painted for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Mr. Connor and his wife spent time in the Eastern Sierra mountain range over the weekend leaf-peeping. Leaf peeping is new to Mr Connor as well, it is going to areas where the leaves of trees are changing in mass. Mr. Connor headed to Bishop Ca. Bishop is approx 300 miles from Upland Ca.
